New World Aeternum’s Big 2025 Update Pushed Forward

The New World Aeternum developers unexpectantly announced a change in date for the end of Season 9 (and the Summer Medleyfaire Event), bringing it forward three weeks.

  • Original Season 9 End Date – October 27
  • New Season 9 End Date – October 6

This has likely brought forward the launch of the highly anticipated Season 10 update, possibly to October 7th or soon after. Season 10 is set to be quite a large update based on the July 2025 Living Roadmap and other hints revealed by the developers. It is currently unknown if it will be a free or paid update.

The reasoning for bringing the end of Season 9 forward is not yet known. However, some have speculated that the date was moved so that Season 10’s release would not coincide with Guild Wars 2’s upcoming expansion set to release on October 28. Regardless, hopefully the Season 10 Update will be ready and mostly bug free for an earlier release.

We can expect to hear more about Season 10 in September.
